24 hours prior. Use a non-oil-based exfoliator or exfoliating mitt to remove dry skin and create the perfect canvas for your tan.
Complete all shaving or waxing at least 24 hours before your appointment to give your skin time to settle.
Avoid heavy moisturizers and body oils the day before and the day of your appointment.
Arrive with clean, dry skin—no makeup, lotion, perfume, deodorant, or sunscreen.
Choose comfy clothes and sandals if possible. Tight clothing can rub against your fresh tan.
Remove jewelry before your appointment to help ensure an even application.
Avoid water, sweating, and working out until it's time to rinse (I'll let you know exactly when!).
Use lukewarm water only—no soap, scrubbing, or shampoo during your first rinse. Use hands to lightly glide the solution off your body to avoid streaks.
Keeping your skin hydrated is the best way to extend the life of your tan. Avoid oil based moisturizers.
Long hot showers, swimming, and hot tubs can cause your tan to fade more quickly.
When it's time to dry off, be gentle with your glow! Instead of rubbing your skin with a towel, lightly pat yourself dry. Rubbing can cause your fresh tan to fade unevenly or wear off more quickly. Treat your tan with a little TLC, and it'll keep you glowing longer!
Try not to touch your skin while your tan is developing. It might be tempting, but rubbing or resting your hands on your body can cause uneven spots or fingerprints in your tan. Let your glow set in peace—you’ll have plenty of time to admire it soon!
